Pediatric Neurologist - Physician Scientist
About the role
The Division of Pediatric Neurology at the University of Utah School of Medicine seeks a Pediatric Neurologist - Physician Scientist. This position will be a key member of the clinical team providing subspecialty patient care in inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology settings with 25% effort assigned to clinical duties. Clinical activities may occur at Primary Children's Hospitals in Salt Lake City and Lehi, the Clinical Neurosciences Center, and Riverton Hospital. As a Physician Scientist, 75% effort will be dedicated to Research and Investigation.
Responsibilities
- Provide subspecialty patient care in inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology settings
- Contribute to the clinical team at Primary Children's Hospitals in Salt Lake City and Lehi, the Clinical Neurosciences Center, and Riverton Hospital
- Engage in research and investigation with a proven publication record and demonstrated or high likelihood of extramural funding
- Collaborate with existing programs such as epilepsy, genetic therapies, neuromuscular, neonatal, or leukodystrophy
- Participate in academic work including scholarly activity, teaching, investigation/research, and administration
- Advocate for the field of pediatric neurology
Requirements
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Neurology with Specialization in Child Neurology
- Proven publication record with demonstrated or high likelihood of extramural funding
- Experience working in settings with students and a strong commitment to improving access to higher education
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree
- Completion of a residency program in Neurology and Child Neurology
- Completion of a fellowship program in Pediatric Neurology (preferred)
