Responsibilities

• Guide program growth while maintaining direct patient care
• Design block scheduling to support work-life balance
• Provide daytime rounding with out-of-house call (30-minute response time)
• Support physician and advanced practice provider (APP) recruitment and retention
• Partner with hospital leadership on program development and growth
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture

Requirements

• BC/BE Pediatrician

Qualifications

• Leadership role with clinical balance
• Guidance on quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives
• Collaboration with UVA, INOVA, Children’s National subspecialists
• Partnership with Pediatrix NICU providers for continuity of care
• Experience with 17-bed pediatric floor and newborn nursery
• Knowledge of approximately 2,400 annual deliveries and 5-15 pediatric floor and newborn nursery admissions per day

Skills

• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Experience with quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives
• Ability to mentor Family Medicine residents
• Knowledge of local healthcare resources and partnerships
