About the role

Dell Children's Medical Group is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide medical services to pediatric hematology patients in an outpatient setting. This role focuses on patients with a wide range of hematologic diagnoses. The ideal candidate will have hematology/oncology experience and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Join an established team of physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs)
  • Outpatient practice setting within a nonprofit health system
  • Deliver specialized care by conducting thorough histories, physical assessments, and clinical observations tailored to pediatric hematology/oncology patients
  • Formulate treatment strategies by ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies for complex blood disorders and cancers
  • Provide compassionate counseling and education to families regarding preventative health, treatment options, and community resources
  • Coordinate holistic patient support, including referrals to specialized providers and support networks
  • Document patient care with precision, maintaining accurate medical records in accordance with specialty standards

Requirements

  • Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed by the Texas Medical Board (required prior to hire)
  • Certified Physician Assistant credentialed by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) (required prior to hire)
  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
  • Advanced Life Support (preferred)
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (Master's degree preferred)
  • 1 year of experience preferred
