Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer (Pediatric Echo Technologist) Alternate Titles: Pediatric Echo Tech, Pediatric Echocardiography Technologist, Pediatric Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist, Congenital Heart Sonographer Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is seeking a skilled Pediatric Echo Technologist to perform diagnostic pediatric echocardiograms and cardiac ultrasound procedures for infants, children, and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart conditions. This role supports pediatric cardiology teams by producing high-quality cardiac imaging studies that aid in the diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of pediatric heart disease. The Pediatric Echo Technologist works closely with pediatric cardiologists, congenital heart specialists, nurses, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary care teams to support leading-edge cardiac care for pediatric patients. This position plays a critical role in identifying congenital heart defects and monitoring cardiac health throughout childhood. Success In This Role Includes Obtaining accurate, diagnostic-quality pediatric echocardiograms.Supporting timely diagnosis of congenital and acquired cardiac conditions.Maintaining compliance with imaging quality, patient safety, and accreditation standards. Benefits May Include Medical, Dental, and Vision CoverageRetirement Savings OptionsProfessional Development OpportunitiesPerform comprehensive pediatric echocardiograms in accordance with established pediatric cardiology protocols.Obtain high-quality cardiac ultrasound images of neonatal, infant, pediatric, and adolescent patients.Evaluate cardiac anatomy, physiology, blood flow patterns, and congenital heart abnormalities.Perform diagnostic measurements, calculations, and Doppler studies required for physician interpretation.Assist pediatric cardiologists and physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures as needed.Accurately document imaging findings and patient information within electronic medical record and imaging systems.Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot echocardiography ultrasound equipment.Ensure patient comfort and safety while providing compassionate care to pediatric patients and families.Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, patients, parents, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.Adhere to department quality assurance, infection prevention, and patient safety standards Qualifications (Must-Have) High School Diploma or GED.Successful completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent registration through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).Current AHA CPR certificationMinimum six months of clinical or student scanning experience in diagnostic sonography.Pediatric Echocardiography experienceKnowledge of pediatric cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.Ability to obtain complete diagnostic echocardiographic studies and perform required cardiac measurements. Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have) Congenital Heart Disease imaging experiencePediatric Cardiology or Children's Hospital experienceExperience imaging congenital and acquired pediatric heart conditions.Experience in a pediatric hospital, academic medical center, or specialty cardiology practice.Knowledge of advanced echocardiography techniques and pediatric cardiac protocols.Experience working with neonatal, infant, and adolescent populations.Familiarity with EPIC and digital imaging systems.Strong patient and family-centered care skills.
