Pediatric Development Counseling
Location: Child Study Center Clinic
Shift: M-F, 8-5pm (no call, no holidays or weekends)
About the Role
Provides assessment and treatment of children with psychological or sexual behavioral problems, assessment and intervention for infants and young children with prenatal exposure to alcohol and other drugs, and assessment of children with craniofacial anomalies and/or extreme prematurity.
Responsibilities
- Psychological Assessment: Provide evaluation and assessment for children referred for psychological services, behavior problems, disabilities, medical conditions, and trauma.
- Treatment: Provides individual and group therapy for children and their caregivers.
- Report Preparation: Prepares reports stating findings, recommendations, etc.
- Referrals: Responsible for taking referrals and scheduling intake assessments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Master's Degree in Psychology.
- Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience required. Experience in a clinical assessment setting with children from birth to twelve years of age preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Oklahoma.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to negotiate, problem solve, and make decisions in order to make patients and families comfortable with the treatment.
- Ability to understand how children of different ages and developmental stages express their thoughts, emotions, and fears.
- Ability to effectively form connections and positive relationships with children.
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office tools.
