Responsibilities

  • PNP/PA Full time position available- days and nights with weekends and holidays as needed
  • The APP Fellowship in pediatric critical care is a post graduate, 12-month education program for NPs and PAs interested in working at the University of Rochester Golisano Children’s Hospital in the Pediatric Medical ICU and Pediatric Cardiac Care Center.
  • The program will encompass both didactic instruction and clinical experiences targeting new graduate APPs or those with limited acute care pediatric experience.
  • The program will build upon graduate academic training to broaden and develop the fellow’s knowledge and skill set in pediatric critical care.
  • The program includes core rotations in the pediatric cardiac care center, pediatric intensive care unit and specialty rotations targeting enhanced education for the pediatric critical care provider.
  • Additional didactics will include: procedural skill labs, high fidelity simulations, and mentorship for QI or research involvement.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, an enthusiasm for learning, a strong work ethic, the ability to work well in a team-based environment, and excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Nurse Practitioner Require a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.
  • Physician Assistant Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

Qualifications

  • NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn.

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
