Pediatric Clinical Psychologist - Hematology & Oncology (M67897)

About the role

The Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Pediatric Clinical Psychologist to join the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. The position is located at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.

Responsibilities

• Teaching: Provide guidance and mentorship to residents and chief residents in Hematology/Oncology Psychology.
• Research: Secure funding through grants and contracts and mentor other members of the division and the department of Pediatrics.
• Service: Serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees and engage in professional activities such as journal reviews, conference presentations, etc.
• Clinical: Provide clinical care to both inpatient and outpatient patients in the Division of Hematology/Oncology.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Counseling from an APA-accredited doctoral program.
• Experience with clinical care of patients ages birth to 21.
• Experience with education of house-staff, medical students, and others.
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a diverse population.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in programmatic development/leadership.
• Sub-board and/or additional graduate degrees.
• Experience with advocacy at local, state, and national levels.
• Success in generating revenue (grants/contracts).
