PEDIATRIC HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY

About the role

The selected physician will partner with an experienced, multidisciplinary team to provide family-centered care to child and adolescent patients with a broad spectrum of hematologic and oncologic conditions including solid tumors, brain tumors, leukemia, and sickle cell disease. Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders provides care for about 100 newly diagnosed patients annually. As a member of the Children’s Oncology Group, the Center is one of the highest participants in research protocols in Florida.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to diagnose and treat pediatric malignancies and blood disorders.
• Participate in clinical trials and research initiatives aligned with the Children’s Oncology Group.
• Provide comprehensive care to patients and their families, emphasizing a patient- and family-centered approach.
• Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Engage in professional development through ongoing education and participation in continuing medical education programs.

Requirements

• Board certification in Pediatrics and Hematology/Oncology.
• Experience in treating pediatric malignancies and blood disorders.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care to children and adolescents.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a pediatric residency program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
• Completion of a hematology/oncology fellowship program accredited by the American Board of Pediatrics.
