Job Summary

About the Role

Erlanger is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Pediatric Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a collaborative inpatient cardiology team. This position provides the opportunity to care for pediatric patients with complex congenital and acquired heart conditions in a hospital-based setting while working closely with pediatric cardiologists and multidisciplinary care teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive inpatient care to pediatric patients admitted for cardiac evaluation and management.
  • Performs detailed histories and physical examinations, assesses and monitors cardiac status, develops and implements evidence-based treatment plans, and coordinates care throughout the hospitalization.
  • Participates in daily rounds, responds to clinical changes, and collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic studies such as laboratory tests, imaging, and cardiac diagnostics, participates in care planning for pre- and post-procedural patients, and supports patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans.
  • Accurately and timely documents in the electronic medical record and adheres to hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of Tennessee.
  • National certification in a specialty (such as ACNP, ANP, CCNS, FNP).
  • Certificate of fitness from the state of Tennessee (as required by specialty).
  • BLS completed prior to going to the unit/departments and maintained going forward.

Qualifications

  • Master's of Science degree in Nursing (MSN).
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3 Years' experience in a clinical care setting.

Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Pay

The pay for this position is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no weekend or overnight shifts, and is strictly inpatient-based.
