Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer - Per Diem

About the role

This role involves performing cardiac ultrasound procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating patients, primarily in pediatric outpatient and NICU settings. It requires independent operation, adherence to radiological standards, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure quality care.

Responsibilities

• Verify and perform cardiac ultrasound procedures, including pediatric and fetal echocardiography
• Instruct patients and families on procedures and safety protocols
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot technical issues
• Train staff, students, or other healthcare personnel as needed

Requirements

• Associate degree in Radiology or a related field
• Certification as a Diagnostic or Cardiac Sonographer
• At least four years of relevant experience in pediatric echocardiography
• Experience with fetal scanning preferred
• Strong understanding of cardiac physiology and congenital heart defects

Skills

• Knowledge of radiologic procedures and radiation safety
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Manual dexterity and physical stamina for standing and lifting

Pay

$48.60 - $61.96 per hour
