About the Role
Northwest Florida Community Hospital is seeking a compassionate and motivated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our Pediatric team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents in a rural healthcare setting. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive pediatric care to our community.
Responsibilities
- Focus on patient and family education and assist patients and their families in their efforts toward recovery and rehabilitation
- Monitor patient care and treatment
- Document all patient care within an electronic health record
- Respond to patient care inquiries throughout the day
- Increase patient engagement and satisfaction through integration of feedback from patients, management, and professional colleagues
- Provide pediatric primary care including wellness visits, acute visits, and chronic disease management
- Diagnose, treat, and manage common pediatric conditions
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in accordance with state regulations
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and support teams to ensure continuity of care
Requirements
- Graduated from an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
- Current Board of Nursing License to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state practicing
- Valid Board of Nursing License as a Registered Nurse in the state practicing
- Current BLS certification
- Current Florida APRN license
- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification required or Family Health Nurse Practitioner with prior pediatric experience
- Prior pediatric clinic experience required
Schedule & Location
Clinic-based position. Primary coverage in Marianna and Chipley, with potential rotation as needed.
