About the Role

Supports the licensed healthcare team in performing office examinations and procedures by organizing and managing clinic patient flow, gathering and documenting patient screening data, assisting with patient and family education, and communicating with the patient's healthcare team.

This position floats to locations at DOT and to off-site locations. Our clinical and nursing support roles are central to advancing personalized health, supporting each other, and encouraging excellence.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supports patient flow as well as unit operations by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards.
• Facilitates identification of resources to meet patient healthcare needs.
• Performs and assists with procedures according to organizational and departmental standards.
• Collects and documents patient screening data for the healthcare team.
• Assists with patient and family education.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant (MA) certification from one of the following organizations:
  • AMT (American Medical Technologists)
  • AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)
  • NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing)
  • NHA (National Health Career Association)
  • NAHP (National Association for Health Professionals)
• Consideration may be given to candidates who can obtain certification within 120 days, in accordance with state guidelines.
• Candidates may sit for the certification exam if they have 12 months of patient care experience.
• Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
