About the role

Join a talented group of more than 90 Morrison Healthcare dietitians at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia. This full‑time (40 hr/week) position is a newly established role created to provide dedicated nutrition expertise and strategic direction for the new UVA Food and Digestive Allergic Disease Center of Excellence, a multidisciplinary center jointly established by the Divisions of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition; Gastroenterology and Hepatology (Adult); and the Divisions of Pediatric and Adult Allergy & Immunology. The RDN will focus on clinical care of both pediatric and adult patients, supporting clinics such as EGID, IgE‑mediated food allergy, GI‑Allergy, and alpha‑gal syndrome, while developing nutrition care pathways and protocols in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nutrition care to pediatric and adult patients with gastrointestinal allergic conditions.
• Support and participate in outpatient clinics including EGID, IgE‑mediated food allergy, GI‑Allergy, and alpha‑gal syndrome.
• Develop, implement, and maintain nutrition care pathways and protocols in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members.
• Participate in research and quality‑improvement projects related to allergy and digestive diseases.
• Host dietetic interns and mentor junior staff.
• Contribute to the Center’s four founding aims: clinical care, medical education, research & scholarship, and community outreach.
• Engage in continuing education opportunities and professional development.

Requirements

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with at least five years of experience.
• Master’s degree in nutrition.
• Advanced Practice Certification through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) – preferred.
• Licensed Dietitian (or willingness to obtain licensure) in the state of practice.
• Preferable experience working with food allergies and related disorders.
• Healthcare experience – preferred.

Pay

Salary range: $60,000 – $90,000 per year, based on experience.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, full‑time (40 hours per week).
