JOB PURPOSE

The day-to-day responsibilities of the PE Ventures Fellow will evolve in alignment with strategic priorities and organizational initiatives throughout the fellowship term. The Fellow is expected to bring creativity, intellectual curiosity, and a strong commitment to excellence across all areas of work. Core responsibility areas include:

EXPECTATIONS

  • Brand Storytelling
    • Develop and refine compelling narratives that authentically capture the mission, vision, and impact of PE Ventures and its subsidiaries.
    • Identify and document stories from across the organization, including student success, program outcomes, and partner impact.
    • Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to craft messaging that resonates with key audiences, including funders, partners, HBCUs, and community stakeholders.
    • Translate complex organizational initiatives into accessible, engaging story-driven content for multiple channels and formats.
  • Content Development
    • Create high-quality written and multimedia content including blog posts, executive thought leadership pieces, social media copy, newsletters, and promotional materials.
    • Develop content calendars and support timely, consistent publishing across communications platforms.
    • Assist in producing presentations, one-pagers, briefs, and other materials for internal and external audiences.
    • Ensure all content is on-brand, mission-aligned, and reflective of PE Venture's values and standards.
  • Research Projects
    • Conduct landscape analyses, competitive research, and market scans to inform PE Ventures strategy and positioning.
    • Synthesize findings into clear, actionable reports and briefings for the CEO and leadership team.
    • Support due diligence research related to potential partnerships, ventures, and program investments.
    • Track trends in education, innovation, workforce development, and entrepreneurship to keep PE Ventures informed and ahead of the curve.
  • Organizational Narrative Development
    • Support the development and articulation of PE Ventures' organizational identity, including its theory of change, impact framework, and value proposition.
    • Assist in aligning messaging and narrative across PE Venture's three entities — Ed Farm, the Propel Center, and Modiv EDU.
    • Contribute to the development of pitch decks, funder presentations, and stakeholder communications that clearly communicate PE Ventures' strategic direction.
  • Website Content Creation
    • Draft, edit, and update website copy that reflects current programs, initiatives, and organizational priorities for PE Ventures and related Propel platforms.
    • Collaborate with design and technology teams to ensure content is accurate, engaging, and user-friendly.
    • Conduct regular content audits and recommend updates to ensure the website remains current and compelling.
    • Develop landing pages, feature stories, and campaign-specific content to support outreach and engagement goals.
  • Communications Support
    • Aid in drafting press releases, media pitches, talking points, and executive communications on behalf of PE Ventures leadership.
    • Support internal communications efforts to keep PE Ventures teams aligned, informed, and engaged.
    • Manage and respond to stakeholder inquiries and coordinate communications as directed by the CEO.
    • Maintain oversight of media coverage, social engagement, and audience feedback to guide communications strategy.
  • Strategic Projects Supporting PE Ventures
    • Provide direct project support to the CEO on high-priority initiatives and special assignments.
    • Assist in planning and executing convenings, partner meetings, and strategic events connected to PE Ventures' growth agenda.
    • Support cross-functional collaboration with teams across PE Ventures to advance shared organizational goals.
    • Contribute to strategic planning processes, including goal-setting, progress tracking, and reporting on key performance indicators.

    TIME COMMITMENT, TRAVEL & COORDINATION

    This is a one-year fellowship position with hours and scheduling coordinated in alignment with PE Ventures priorities and the CEO's office. The role may require occasional travel to support strategic events, partner convenings, and organizational activations. All travel will be planned in advance and coordinated with the CEO's office and PE Ventures leadership.
