About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Innovations' Venture team, where you will support the sourcing, diligence, deal structuring, and early formation of companies spun out of Cleveland Clinic and external partners across therapeutics, medical technology, and digital health. This fellowship offers early-career professionals an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to venture-building from clinical and scientific insight.

Responsibilities

• Support diligence on live deals and new venture formation across therapeutics, medtech, and digital health.
• Compile clinical, scientific, technical, and commercial analysis to inform team decisions.
• Write disease-area and technology overviews, map competitive landscapes, and track relevant trials and product pipelines.
• Analyze clinical and technical datasets—efficacy, safety, trial design, patient populations, endpoints, reimbursement—and benchmark against comparable programs.
• Translate diligence work into clear PowerPoint pages, charts, and investment committee materials.
• Monitor companies, finances, clinical data, and regulatory developments.
• Prepare for calls with key opinion leaders, clinicians, founders, and advisors by building question lists and summarizing takeaways.
• Assist with early-stage venture formation, including scoping market and competitive landscapes around Cleveland Clinic technologies.
• Research, compile, tabulate, and analyze data for administrative and departmental matters.
• Assist with administrative, planning, organizational, technical, and professional tasks as assigned.
• Provide recommendations on department-specific projects and prepare reports, draft policies, and respond to information requests.

Requirements

• Ability to discuss pros and cons and separate critical issues.
• Ability to make definitive choices, express opinions, and explain logical decision paths.
• Current college enrollment.

Preferred qualifications

• Early-career candidates or those pursuing an MS, MBA, PhD, or MD with a genuine interest in life sciences, medtech, or digital health investing.

Physical requirements

• Full range of body motion including handling/lifting items, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Frequent standing and sitting.
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $15.00 – $150.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. This range does not include benefits or applicable pay practices such as shift differentials or overtime.
