PE Assistant (Dance)

About the role

The Elementary Dance Assistant supports the lead instructor in delivering engaging dance instruction that builds student technique, rhythm, and creative expression. The role helps facilitate lessons, rehearsals, and performances while maintaining a structured, supportive environment where students are encouraged to collaborate, take creative risks, and express ideas through movement.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate dance lessons and rehearsals
• Support the lead instructor in creating and executing performance opportunities
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Encourage students to collaborate and express themselves creatively through movement

Requirements

• High School/GED
• Ability to work 7 hours a day, 8:00-3:00
• Knowledge of basic dance techniques and ability to teach them
• Experience working with children in a classroom setting

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and support students' growth
• Passion for dance and a commitment to fostering creativity in young learners
