PD RN, Coronary Care Unit

About the role

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Coronary Care Unit at the New Brunswick campus.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available.
• Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors.
• Maintains knowledge of the patient population served.
• Supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
• Consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
• Utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs.

Qualifications

• ASN or Nursing Diploma
• RN experience in Critical Care required
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Preferred: BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
• Preferred: CCRN certification

Certifications and Licenses

• BLS and ACLS certification
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Schedule

• Night Shift, 7p‑7:30a
• 2 shifts per month, plus one summer and one winter holiday
• Per Diem

Pay

$47.85 - $71.72 per hour (anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey; compensation offered will depend on educational background, skills and professional experience).
