PCS/Software Engineer

About the role

A leading aluminum manufacturer is looking to add a PCS / Software Engineer to its team in Davenport, IA. This is an excellent opportunity for a software-focused engineer who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment where technology directly impacts production, quality, and operational performance. In this role, you'll support and enhance process control systems that are critical to plant operations, while working across software, hardware, databases, and industrial automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop process control systems, including both hardware and software
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and security updates
• Modify and improve HMI and SCADA applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve process control and quality-related issues
• Develop software tools to support diagnostics, reporting, and operational improvements
• Support manufacturing systems that drive production, quality, and safety

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• At least 1 year of programming experience or equivalent project work
• Experience with one or more of the following: C#, C++, VBA, SQL
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field
• 3+ years of programming experience
• Experience with databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SQLite, or MS Access
• Exposure to manufacturing automation technologies including PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
• Working knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems
• Manufacturing industry experience
• Project management experience is a plus

Pay

$80,000 - $115,000 per year
