About the role
This is a part-time temporary position (up to 25 hours per week).
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical services and maintain a caseload of clients ranging from elementary school age through high school age and their families.
- Maintain a working relationship with school and community personnel throughout the year to coordinate care for clients.
- Organize, plan, and run groups and educational workshops based off of community need.
- Responsible for maintaining records and paperwork and available for weekly staff meetings and weekly clinical supervision meetings.
- Conducts presentations, speaks to local groups, and performs other outreach tasks to promote awareness of the Madison Area YMCA and Project Pride’s work.
- Serve as a Y ambassador, participating in Y conferences, programs and activities, including the Annual Campaign and special events.
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth.
- Attend required abuse risk management training.
- Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth.
- Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Master degree in Social Work or related degree
- Licensed NJ LSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC
- Previous experience working with children and teens
- Proficient in use of computers
- Ability to communicate effectively, bi-lingual Spanish a plus
- 3+ years of previous professional mental health counseling experience in treating children, adolescents and families
- Proficient in use of computers
