PCNA- Critical Care SD / MedSurg 72hrs Biweekly Day/Nights

About the role

Join our Critical Care Step Down Unit, 7 West! This role supports a 14-bed inpatient unit specializing in the care of patients with Congestive Heart Failure, COPD, DKA, and Sepsis. You will work alongside Registered Nurses, Nurse Interns, Providers, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists in a state-of-the-art facility featuring patient lifts, hands-free communication, virtual whiteboards, and continuous telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating, and drinking.
• Answer call lights and take vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed).
• Perform and transmit basic ECG and phlebotomy.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (maintaining ODH Registry status as an STNA is optional after employment in this position).
• 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
