PCH Volunteer- PRE-APPROVED ONLY Seacrest Studios

About the role

Volunteers contribute unpaid time to Intermountain Healthcare, specifically in the Seacrest Studio, assisting with CCTV event operations and enabling patients to participate in live shows. The position is based at Intermountain Health Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Responsibilities

• Delivering items to patient rooms so they can participate in a live show (BINGO sheets, prizes, craft supplies, etc.)
• Helping patients and families navigate through and participate in the Seacrest Studio
• Playing along with patients in their room if they need help participating
• Delivering fliers and information about upcoming shows
• Opportunities to participate in or co-host shows in the studio

Experience in some of these tasks is recommended but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Able to commit to 6 months of volunteering
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work with children in varying age groups
• Able to work well with diverse populations
• Sensitive to patient and family situations/dynamics
• Maintain and respect professional relationships
• Able to receive feedback and open to learning new concepts
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Schedule

Shifts are 3 hours in length. Volunteers sign up for a three hour shift each week, with a commitment of 6 months or 80 hours. Shift availability is based on current needs and volunteer qualifications; some shifts may be full and not accepting additional staff at this time.

• Mondays: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
• Tuesdays: 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
• Wednesdays: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
• Thursdays: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
• Fridays: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Volunteers will not be considered for any other shift.
