Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced scheduling for complex surgeries, imaging services, and procedures conducted in hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, or outpatient radiology facilities.
  • Carefully coordinate pre-operative and post-operative testing, clearances, and procedural requirements.
  • Coordinate care across multiple specialties to ensure appropriate sequencing of appointments and treatments.
  • Manage complex scheduling for sequential treatment plans, including clinical trial participants and standard-of-care patients.
  • Coordinate transplant-related evaluations and workups for both donors and patients.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and their families, ensuring effective communication, accurate scheduling, and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of healthcare scheduling experience required.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated empathy and compassion when interacting with patients and families.

Physical Requirements

Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: blood-borne pathogen exposure, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
