PCB Layout Engineer
About the role
We are looking for a motivated PCB layout designer to design the next generation of boards for all of Lunar Energy's products. The PCB layout designer will be responsible for full layouts of all our boards as well as designing library parts for new components. Engineers at Lunar are hands-on, comfortable with both simulation and real hardware, and able to carry product development from the concept stage through high-volume production. Responsibilities
- Design and lay out a mixture of different types of technology boards, including through-hole, SMT, and mixed signals.
- Lay out high-speed, high-voltage, and high-power PCBs.
- Work with electrical and mechanical engineers for optimal part placement.
- Generate output files for manufacturing (Gerbers, BOMs, stack-up, assembly docs, etc.).
- Generate libraries (footprints and schematic symbols).
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant circuit board design experience.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer.
- Experience with power supply and switching regulator layout.
- Solid knowledge of PCB materials and developing board stack-up per design requirements.
- Knowledge of IPC specifications to aid in design for manufacturability of both fabrication and assembly processes.
Skills
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements are met and provide feedback and solutions on the board level for issues related to hardware, signal integrity/power integrity, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing.
- Strong capability to drive projects and finish qualified designs on time.
- Excellent communication skills with strong initiative and the ability to work in a highly collaborative, team environment.
- Willingness to learn and grow with technology.

Pay
The salary range for this position, depending on level of experience, is $140,000–$180,000 USD. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by factors including years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
