About the role
We are seeking an experienced PCB Design Manager to lead and develop a team of PCB layout engineers. The ideal candidate will provide technical direction, mentorship, and performance guidance, oversee PCB layout execution, collaborate with cross-functional teams, review and approve PCB layouts, ensure adherence to industry standards and Teradyne design processes, and support project planning and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of PCB layout engineers, providing technical direction, mentorship, and performance guidance
- Oversee PCB layout execution, ensuring designs meet electrical, mechanical, quality, and manufacturability requirements
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, project management, manufacturing, and global ECAD partners to deliver complex programs
- Review and approve PCB layouts, focusing on functionality, cost, reliability, and design-for-manufacturability
- Ensure adherence to industry standards (IPC) and Teradyne design processes while driving continuous improvement
- Support project planning, resource allocation, and delivery commitments across multiple concurrent programs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in PCB design, layout, or hardware engineering
- 2+ years of experience leading or managing engineers, projects, or technical teams
- Strong expertise in multi-layer PCB design, high-speed routing, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Hands-on experience with PCB design tools such as Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar
- Working knowledge of IPC standards and PCB quality best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot complex layout issues and guide technical decision-making
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering and manufacturing teams
- Proven organizational and project management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Local to the position location
