PCB Design Engineer

About the Role
The Electrical Engineer (EE) position supports projects at various stages, including R&D, productization, and fielded products. The role involves designing and developing complex printed circuit boards for high-speed digital, high-fidelity analog, and specialized power applications across multiple GA-EMS business areas and product lines.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage standardized part libraries
- Develop PC board designs using Altium Designer
- Make engineering computations and write specifications
- Generate circuit board manufacturing data and drawings
- Guide the resolution of engineering problems related to PC board design and manufacturing
- Apply latest technological advancements to solve complex engineering problems
- Represent the organization as a prime technical contact on projects
- Provide innovative solutions to complex technical challenges
- Work independently and in a team environment
- Ensure customer-focused and innovative design solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
- At least 9 years of progressive engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree, 7 years with a master’s degree, or 4 years with a PhD
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
- Technical expertise in PC board design for digital, analog, and power applications
- Proven ability to plan and implement electrical, mechanical, and cabling-interconnect features in PC board design
- High-speed digital circuit board layout experience, including DDR memory and GHz-range circuit speed
- Mixed-signal digital/analog circuit board layout experience, including split or isolated reference/power planes
- High-power or high-voltage circuit board layout experience, including high-voltage isolation and pulse-power techniques
- Complex, multi-layer PC board design experience
- Thermal-clad PC board design experience (desirable)
- Knowledge of Altium Designer
