Payroll Tax Analyst
Position Summary
The Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for monitoring, reconciling and overall administration of all payroll tax related tasks such as tax filings and returns, tax payments, Finance tax support with research and reconciliations, government reporting, tax table setup and employee tax setup. Assists in the preparation and delivery of W-2 forms, and other related filings for approximately 10,000 associates and retirees in the US and Puerto Rico. Responsible for adherence to all payroll related local, state, federal, and other applicable foreign tax laws and procedures.
Essential Functions
- Aid in the oversight and validation of accurate and timely payroll tax returns for the Company and its subsidiary companies.
- Ensure compliance with company policy and statutory federal and state tax withholding, labor and payroll tax regulations.
- Responsible for analyzing, documenting, and implementing process improvements.
- Ability to research unique tax situations and provide resolutions.
- Initiate and promote continued process improvement to maximize customer service delivery and productivity through root cause analysis.
- Support Quarter and Year end processing and provide management of all year-end related tasks to ensure successful delivery of W2’s to our employees.
- Processes wage and tax adjustments and prepare necessary W-2c corrections.
- Prepares other payroll tax-related reports and wage inquiries as required.
- Maintain Oracle tax tables with correct tax rates; manage testing and validation of all updates.
- Knowing of federal, state and local tax reporting requirements to ensure compliance of payroll and support of mergers/acquisitions.
- Data Entry of W-4 Changes as submitted by employees.
- Aid in Audit Information request.
Other Requirements
- Minimum 2-year degree in Accounting/Business or other related field. Preference for 4-year degree.
- Experience with HCM/Payroll and time and attendance systems.
- Minimum of 1-year functional experience in Payroll Tax.
- Experience with Oracle HCM/Payroll is preferred.
- Experience with ADP Smart Compliance is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge Payroll Tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical, team building and interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented with expertise in written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
