Payroll Supervisor

About the role

The Payroll Supervisor will lead biweekly payroll processing, reporting, and serve as a subject-matter expert for payroll operations, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll for over 400 employees across two companies and multiple states. This role includes prevailing-wage and public-works payroll administration, maintaining strong payroll controls, and driving continuous improvement through process optimization, system enhancements, automation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now (WFN).
• Administer prevailing-wage and public-works payroll, including certified payroll reporting.
• Maintain and strengthen payroll controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Optimize payroll processes through system enhancements, automation, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Generate and analyze payroll reports.
• Serve as the payroll subject-matter expert for employees and managers.

Requirements

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
• Experience with public-works prevailing-wage processing and certified payroll reporting.
• Four-year college degree (preferred accounting emphasis or equivalent experience) or related experience/training.
• Four or more years of progressive payroll management experience.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
• Advanced experience with ADP Workforce Now / Workforce Suite (Payroll Processing, Time & Attendance, Reporting, Time Off).
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and written skills to explain payroll concepts clearly.
