The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll and ensuring compliance with union agreements and regulations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employees in US and Canada.
- Process Certified Payroll.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of union reports and payments.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure compliance with union agreements and labor laws.
- Prepare and submit required reports to union representatives and government agencies.
- Absorb and provide necessary documentation and explanations for audits.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and union agreements.
- Weekly and monthly certified payroll reporting.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of union payroll experience, with a strong focus on union reporting.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations, especially those related to unions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
