Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll transactions for the weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for hourly and salary employees, including union and non-union staff
- Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), including wage scales, shift differentials, overtime rules, and fringe benefits
- Manage payment of union deductions such as dues, benefits, and garnishments
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee inquiries in a timely manner
- Cookordinate with HR, Benefits, and Accounting teams to ensure accurate employee data and payroll reporting
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Support audits by providing payroll data and documentation as needed
- Generate payroll reports for management and internal departments
- Stay current on payroll laws, tax updates, and union contract changes
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of payroll processing experience, with hands-on union payroll experience required
- Strong understanding of payroll laws (FLSA, multi-state payroll regulations, wage and hour laws)
- Skilled hands on experience supporting teams and operations in the Industrial Services sector preferred
- Experience interpreting union contracts and applying payroll rules accurately
- Proficiency with payroll systems, ADP Workforce Now preferred
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs preferred)
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels
