Payroll Specialist

Pay

Pay range $26-$29/hr DOE

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
• Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience required; healthcare or hospice experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Accurately and timely process multi-state payroll
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
• Provide exceptional support to employees and leaders regarding payroll-related inquiries
• Process payrolls for multi-state employees in accordance with established payroll schedules
• Review payroll data for accuracy, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings
• Audit payroll reports prior to transmission to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Process off-cycle payments, bonuses, commissions, and final pay in compliance with state requirements
• Process employee status changes, new hires, terminations, direct deposit updates, and other payroll-related transactions
• Afford support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation
• Afford assistance with process improvement initiatives and payroll documentation
