Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states with accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Calculate overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, and retroactive pay with precision and fairness.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including deductions, garnishments, and benefit contributions.
- Review payroll registers and reports for accuracy; research and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Partner with HR on new hires, terminations, pay changes, timekeeping, and benefits updates to ensure a smooth employee experience.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees, responding to inquiries regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and payroll policies with clarity and care.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and assist with internal and external audits.
- Uphold strict confidentiality and protect sensitive employee information at all times.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience for hourly and salaried employees preferred.
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems; experience with UKG is a plus.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
