Responsibilities
- Point of contact for employees regarding payroll and time calculations.
- Interprets payroll policies and procedures to company employees of all levels.
- Receives and responds in a timely fashion to telephone, e-mail inquiries and mail.
- Acts like an internal subject matter expert on issues of moderate complexity.
- Trains new managers and employees on ADP Workforce Now time and attendance functionality.
- Processes information in ADP Workforce Now; information may include commissions, bonuses, or other compensation, time worked, retroactive earnings, deductions, and other required information.
- Responsible for the preparation and processing of multi-state and bi-weekly payroll runs including entering time and validating payroll prior to transmission.
- Analysis, preparation, and entry of all payroll exceptions to produce accurate and timely payroll.
- Works with managers for timecard accuracy and corrections.
- Ensures timecard and payroll policies are followed.
- Processes stop payments, direct deposit reversals and direct deposit returns.
- Processes garnishments, support withholdings, liens, 401K loans and other payroll related deductions.
- Pairs with site controllers on set-up and maintenance of general ledger.
- Maintains Time Clocks and Timeclock Configurations.
- Works with benefit team after Open Enrollments and verifies insurance deductions in ADP.
- Verifies calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
- Verifies 401(k) deferrals, changes, and loans in payroll system.
- Confirms bi-weekly payroll contributions on Principal site and authorizes debit from designated bank accounts.
- Prepares Monthly Metrics & Reports: Headcount, Worker’s Comp, PTO Liability, and additional reports as needed.
- Generating customized payroll reports as needed.
- Responds to employee verifications of employments (VOE).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Knowledge of multi-state, and multi-divisional, payroll.
- 3+ years’ previous experience with HRIS and automated payroll systems for 500+ employees.
- Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Detail oriented, strong analytical skills, ability to detect inconsistencies in data, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Strong knowledge of current payroll related laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of the entire payroll process including but not limited to processing of: EFT, ACH, 940, 941, Employer Tax, W-2s, child support, and other wage garnishments.
- FPC or CPP certification preferred.
- Exposure to a high volume, and multi-task work environment required.
- Bi-lingual is a plus (Spanish/English).
- Office Equipment, Database & Query Software, ADP HRIS & Payroll System experience.
