Responsibilities
- Process high-volume payroll for union and non-union employees across multiple U.S. states and Canada
- Prepare and process certified payroll and all required weekly and monthly reporting
- Administer multi-state, multi-union payroll while ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements
- Maintain employee payroll records, earnings, deductions, garnishments, taxes, and benefit withholdings
- Prepare union reports, remittances, and government filings accurately and on time
- Partner with HR and Finance regarding payroll changes, audits, and compliance initiatives
- Aid with internal and external payroll audits by providing supporting documentation and analysis
- Stay current on payroll legislation, tax regulations, labor requirements, and Canadian payroll requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and overall efficiency
Requirements
- 3+ years of payroll experience supporting high-volume, multi-state payroll
- Experience processing union payroll and interpreting collective bargaining agreements
- Certified payroll reporting experience is highly desirable
- Working knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements
- Experience with payroll software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
Qualifications
- Certified payroll reporting experience is highly desirable
- Working knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements
- Experience with payroll software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
