Payroll Specialist

We are a well-established and growing organization in the construction industry seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Tualatin. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing complex payroll processes, and partnering closely with employees and leadership to ensure accurate and timely payroll administration.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule for a diverse employee population
• Maintain employee payroll records, earnings, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Administer prevailing wage and union payroll requirements, as applicable
• Review payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Partner with Human Resources regarding employee changes, benefits deductions, and leave-related payroll impacts
• Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for audits
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and reporting
• Support continuous improvement efforts within payroll processes and systems

Requirements

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience
• Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
• Construction, union, or project-based payroll experience highly preferred
• Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• CPP certification is a plus, but not required

Pay

Competitive salary of $80,000-$85,000
