Payroll Specialist

Must live in New England

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end, multi-state payroll using ADP Workforce Now on a scheduled cycle
• Maintain payroll data integrity, including employee changes, deductions, benefits, garnishments, and tax updates
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
• Reconcile payroll prior to submission and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Partner with Finance to ensure accurate payroll accounting and general ledger postings
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
• Manage payroll tax filings, reporting, and year-end processes (W-2s, adjustments, audits)
• Support internal and external audits by providing required payroll documentation
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and compensation data
• Identify and support process improvements to increase payroll efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state environment
• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now
• Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and wage and hour laws
• Experience reconciling payroll and working with Finance or Accounting teams
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification
• Experience supporting audits (internal or external)
• Familiarity with HRIS systems integrated with ADP
• Experience in a multi-entity or multi-state organization

Pay

$35-$42 per hour
