Responsibilities
- Process accurate and timely multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
- Manage payroll activities within UKG, including employee data, timekeeping, earnings, deductions, taxes, and payroll reporting.
- Review and validate employee timecards, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, PTO, and other payroll-related adjustments.
- Support payroll for a manufacturing workforce, including multiple shifts, hourly employees, overtime, and varying pay structures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, tax requirements, and company policies.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee questions, and timekeeping issues.
- Process new hires, terminations, compensation changes, deductions, garnishments, and other employee updates.
- Reconcile payroll reports, payroll-related general ledger accounts, benefits deductions, and tax liabilities.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance to ensure employee and payroll information is accurate and properly maintained.
- Assist with quarter-end and year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and payroll tax reconciliations.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing payroll documentation and reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiencies within UKG.
- Maintain confidential employee and payroll information.
Requirements
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably supporting a multi-state workforce.
- Hands-on UKG payroll and/or timekeeping experience required.
- Experience processing payroll within manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or another high-volume hourly environment strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and wage and hour requirements.
- Experience with hourly payroll, overtime, shift differentials, deductions, garnishments, and payroll taxes.
- Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with payroll reports and large data sets.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, HR, Finance, and operational leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting payroll across multiple manufacturing facilities or locations.
- Experience with UKG Pro, UKG Ready, or UKG Workforce Management.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPP or FPC certification is a plus.
Pay
$70,000 - $90,000 per year
