Responsibilities
- Process payroll records, attendance information, W-2s, tax forms, and other payroll-related documentation.
- Review payroll information for accuracy and ensure required documentation is complete.
- Coordinate with Human Resources regarding new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and other employee updates.
- Process electronic payroll payments and coordinate distribution of payroll checks.
- Maintain employee payroll data, including salary and wage adjustments.
- Process bonuses, severance payments, taxes, workers' compensation, deductions, and other forms of compensation.
- Process and maintain payroll-related benefit expenses, including insurance and paid leave.
- Prepare payroll reports and financial information for management as requested.
- Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, compensation, deductions, and payments.
- Assist with payroll audits, government requests, and communications with agencies such as the IRS.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive employee and payroll information.
- Perform other payroll, accounting, and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Payroll Coordinator or in a similar payroll position required.
- Knowledge of payroll processes and procedures.
- Working knowledge of applicable payroll and employment regulations, including FLSA.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to work with financial and employee data.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll information.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to work effectively with employees, Human Resources, accounting, and external agencies.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with UKG/UltiPro, GP, JDE, or similar payroll systems preferred.
- Experience with Oracle, Kronos, or other payroll processing systems preferred.
- Familiarity with payroll and accounting legislation and compliance requirements preferred.
- Previous experience supporting payroll audits or government requests preferred.
- Experience working with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel preferred.
Schedule
Full-time, 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday through Friday. On-Site in Billings, MT.
