About the role
The El Dorado County Office of Education seeks a Payroll Specialist to support the diverse educational needs of the county's student population. This position will perform complex payroll functions for assigned departments and programs under general supervision.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process payroll(s) for assigned county office of education departments and programs.
- Ensure accuracy and timely processing of payroll transactions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Handle inquiries from employees regarding their payroll information.
- Manage payroll data and reports for analysis and reporting purposes.
Requirements / Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of payroll or related experience, preferably within an education or public agency setting.
- Education at a level demonstrating the skill or ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described.
Skills
- Proficiency in payroll software and systems.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Benefits
- Initial salary placement is on the first step of the pay range.
- EDCOE pays $600/month toward medical, no-cost dental, life insurance, EAP, long-term disability; $4.64/month vision; CalPERS retirement.
Pay
- $5,178.24 - $6,740.76 monthly.
Schedule
- 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 261 days per year, 12 months per year.
