About the role
DuraServ is looking for a Payroll Specialist who manages weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles, administers Time & Attendance in ADP Workforce Now, handles certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements, and ensures all deductions and special pay are administered with precision and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Direct the preparation and processing of weekly and semi-monthly payroll for a multi-state, multi-location workforce using ADP Workforce Now
- Manage the Time & Attendance system — resolving timecard errors, auditing time reporting, and ensuring every hour worked is captured correctly before processing
- Calculate pro-rata pay and administer special pay including stipends, commissions, bonuses, and prevailing wages with precision and consistency
- Handle certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage administration — accurately, completely, and on schedule
- Administer all deductions including benefits, garnishments, and 401K with a zero-tolerance standard for error
- Adhere to all applicable local, state, and federal payroll laws and maintain audit-ready payroll records at all times
- Generate reports for data analysis and compliance verification — translating payroll data into clear, actionable documentation
- Serve as a knowledgeable, responsive resource for team members and managers with payroll questions — you resolve issues quickly and communicate clearly
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and branch operations to ensure payroll data integrity across all systems
- Identify process gaps and contribute to continuous improvement of payroll operations — you don't just process; you improve
Requirements
- Required Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll software — this is a firm requirement, not a preference
- Demonstrated experience with Certified Payroll reporting and Prevailing Wage — candidates without this experience will not be considered
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience in a multi-state or multi-location environment
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll compliance requirements
Preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel for payroll reporting and data analysis
- Experience with HRIS and Time & Attendance systems integration
