About the Role
DNV is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our GSS HR payroll team, ensuring payroll processes run smoothly and accurately across North America. Your attention to detail will be essential as you review payroll records, spot inconsistencies, and confirm all transactions are completed correctly and on schedule. This role supports compliance and continuous improvement in payroll operations. You’ll collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to streamline payroll and resolve discrepancies. The position is based in Houston, TX, following a hybrid model (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other stakeholders.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data.
- Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all payroll-related information.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of payroll experience.
- Experience managing payroll for 600+ employees.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (Pivot Tables, formulas, and data analysis).
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Resourceful, adaptable, and collaborative team player.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) and Oracle applications.
- Experience processing Canadian payroll.
- Experience managing multi-entity payroll operations.
