Payroll Specialist

About the role

As a Payroll Specialist with Dematic, you will support payroll processing for multi-state payroll functions. This position is hybrid, requiring three days in-office, and is open to candidates in Grand Rapids, MI or Milwaukee, WI.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Payroll team to prepare and process multi-state payroll for U.S. hourly (1500+ employees) and Canada (300+ employees).
• Verify accuracy of employee information in payroll systems: Workday, ADP WFN Canada, and UKG Workforce Management.
• Prepare and distribute various reports to departments and managers.
• Respond to inquiries from employees and third-party agencies.
• Participate in the integration of mergers and acquisitions.
• Participate in system implementations and identify, analyze, and improve business processes for optimization or quality standards.
• Collaborate with the human resource information system to ensure integration requirements are accurately implemented.

Requirements

• 4+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably with multi-state payroll.
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state tax laws.
• Previous experience using UKG Workforce Management Time and Attendance, ADP Workforce Now, Workday, or similar payroll systems.
• Expertise in Excel, including experience with vlookup, xlookup, and pivot tables.
• Knowledge of US benefit plans and North American (US, Canada & Mexico) payroll processes is a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proficiency in basic accounting and business software.

Pay

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $19.81 - $27.24 per hour at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
