Position Purpose

The Payroll Specialist plays a key role in the HR and HR Operations team, handling various payroll-related activities and supporting HRIS Success Factors Payroll. This role involves interacting with employees across the company, focusing on Human Resources and Accounting.

Essential Duties

Researches timekeeping exceptions and takes corrective actions
Calculates and processes payroll and deductions
Processes DTC Incentives, Hospitality Incentives, health insurance premiums, and retirement contributions
Prepares and distributes payroll reports to management
Assists Accounting with payroll general ledger reconciliation
Maintains accurate payroll records and documentation
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Responds to employee inquiries and payroll questions
Trains all new hires on timekeeping and payroll practices

Non-Essential Duties

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent years of experience; 2+ years of experience in Payroll or similar role
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong understanding of payroll principles, general ledger reconciliation, regulations and best practices; proficiency in payroll software and Excel; ability to handle sensitive and confidential information; knowledge of benefits administration is a plus; excellent organizational and project management skills; effective communication skills; keen attention to details; strong analytical skills; ability to work effectively as part of a team

Working Conditions

General office environment with occasional travel
Required to drive automotive vehicle or equipment

This is a Non-Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $26.78 to $41.86. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
