About the Role
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing including accounting, reconciliation, analysis, and compliance. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and methodical, with experience in payroll & system administration and deep knowledge of payroll regulations (multi-state). Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist will ensure the swift and accurate completion of a bi-weekly payroll processing cycle and provide excellent customer service to all employees.
Responsibilities
- Process termination report daily to ensure issuance of final pay to immediate pay state employees
- Manage processing, configuration, and reconciliation of all payroll data to our external payroll or financial systems
- Stay informed and manage the filing of all payroll legal requirements for taxes, audits, and other reporting
- Coordinate year-end W-2 processing
- Prepare payroll-related financial reports as requested
- Educate and communicate policies and procedures for proper payment of staff
- Ensure accurate processing of all garnishment orders
- Prepare off-cycle checks and/or on-demand checks as requested by other departments
Requirements
- College Degree Required (Bachelor or Associate)
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credentials (preferred)
- Significant payroll experience in an organization of at least 1000+ employees
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
- Experience with full scope of Payroll Time & Attendance software
- Understanding of federal, state, and local hourly and salaried timekeeping rules/regulations related to overtime and shift differentials
- Multi-state payroll experience
- Working knowledge of relevant federal and state wage and hour laws
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work in an environment with competing priorities
Pay
Nevada Hiring Range: $24.26—$26 USD
