Responsibilities
- Aid in the preparation of bi-weekly payrolls.
- Assume general duties and responsibilities in the absence of the Payroll Administrator.
- Enter GL entries including gross wages, taxes, deductions, etc.
- Ensure payroll reconciliation for accuracy and consistency.
- Manage garnishment processes with the third-party administrator.
- Handle tax inquiries and investigate questions and concerns.
- Update jurisdiction IDs from local tax agencies as needed.
- Add/void checks/direct deposits for exception solutions.
- Respond to inquiries about payroll, W-2, and W-4 information.
- Prepare incoming VOE's and wage statements.
- Provide accurate and timely payroll support to college employees.
- Maintain accurate employee records.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in business or a related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years prior experience in supporting complex, high volume payroll cycles.
- Strong grasp of payroll and general accounting requirements.
- Experience with automated payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, Workday, etc.
- Experience with automated time keeping systems.
- Knowledgeable of payroll tax jurisdictions, regulations, etc.
- Three (3) years prior experience in supporting accounting functions.
- Highly defined accuracy and continuous improvement mindset.
- Teamwork, customer service, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Highly analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Workday.
- Experience with retirement systems such as PSERS, SERS, and TIAA.
Salary Range
$50,000 to $60,000 (commensurate with experience)
