About the role
Ascension Property Services is seeking a Payroll Specialist to process multi-state payroll for employees across multiple operating companies in a fast-paced construction and field services environment.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on schedule for hourly and salaried employees
- Review approved payroll data for completeness and accuracy
- Validate earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, benefits, and labor allocations
- Process payroll adjustments, corrections, and off-cycle payrolls as needed
- Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation
- Respond to employee and management payroll inquiries
- Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations
- Support year-end payroll processing and reporting requirements
- Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll information
- Audit approved payroll records prior to payroll processing
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and exceptions
- Reconcile payroll reports and identify trends requiring correction
- Support prevailing wage projects, certified payroll reporting, and Davis-Bacon compliance requirements as applicable to the business
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of payroll processing experience required
- Certified payroll and prevailing wage experience is required
- Experience processing payroll through ADP Workforce Now or comparable enterprise payroll systems required. ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred
- Core Competencies: Payroll processing expertise, Payroll compliance knowledge, Certified payroll and prevailing wage knowledge, Proficiency in accounting software, payroll software, and MS Office Suite, Attention to detail, Payroll auditing and reconciliation, Problem-solving and analytical thinking, Customer service orientation, Communication and collaboration in a team environment, Confidentiality and professionalism
Benefits
The position is office-based in Brentwood, TN with a weekly schedule allowing for one remote day per week.
Pay
Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday-Friday, with one remote day per week.
