Payroll Specialist

In this role, you will join a high-performing team in ADP's Human Resources Outsourcing department that provides support and guidance in response to a wide variety of payroll and tax-related questions and issues presented by Client Payroll Administrators. You carry the weight of ADP's service reputation and client satisfaction in your hands. Every day, you will utilize multiple tools and resources to develop accurate, comprehensive, and friendly responses to clients' inquiries regarding payroll practices and tax considerations.
Responsibilities
- Product Support: Respond to client questions regarding payroll and benefits products and provide application and product navigation support. Support activities include:
- Data maintenance, setup, and configuration changes (e.g., Vacation/Paid Time Off, Special Calculations, Time and Attendance schedules, 401k)
- New feature setup requests (e.g., Group Term Life, Health Savings Account, direct deposit calculations, Benefit Accruals)
- Payroll Processing - Tax: Assist clients with payroll processing and resolve issues. Conduct research and follow-up on tax changes. Ensure timely and accurate payroll and tax processing by communicating updates, changes, or issues to the correct parties. Monitor Tax Registration Services via reports to verify all jurisdictions are active. Use online tools daily.
- Consultation: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing consultative support and recommendations on product optimization during status calls and other interactions.
- Quarter and Year-End Support: Resolve issues in partnership with clients that surface in error prevention notices. Determine corrections and generate details on changes needed for processing additional payroll.
- Reporting and Analysis: Work on complex projects, including calculation updates, special reports, tax amendments, company setup, and troubleshooting. Research historical data, determine adjustments, and use online tools to make corrections.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Work with internal teams (401k, Flexible Spending Accounts, Tax, etc.) and third-party vendors to identify and resolve issues. Escalate issues when necessary and communicate status and resolution to clients. Share upcoming changes that could impact clients and address their concerns. Create and update standard client documentation.
Requirements
- At least two years of relevant experience, OR
- Military experience (discipline, commitment, and problem-solving abilities are valued)
You will have occasional extended hours during peak seasons and may work 5 - 10 hours of overtime for 6 - 8 weeks of the year.

- High-level payroll knowledge, including skills for processing client payrolls
- Basic knowledge of payroll tax principles and wage and hour laws

Pay
Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. The compensation range is USD $18.56 - USD $34.66 per hour. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions. Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage or minimum exempt salary requirement under federal, state, and local laws.
