Payroll Specialist
Job Description
Perform daily payroll department operations.
Manage workflow to ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
Verify employees’ work hours and payment through the payroll system.
Provide customer service and assist employees with questions or inquiries regarding deductions such as federal and state withholdings, benefit premiums, earnings, and other statements.
Validate any updates processed in the payroll system prior to closing of payroll.
Aid in setting up new or modified garnishment orders.
Respond timely to child support and other agencies with garnishment related questions.
Process manual checks such as layoffs, terminations, or payroll related adjustments such as missed hours, retro payments, and bonuses.
Aid in training data entry clerks or new team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
- 1+ years of experience in Payroll
- Experience with Sage is a plus
