About the role

The Services Specialist manages the coordination, scheduling, and delivery of a variety of support services to the facility, including general human resources, communication, payroll, and purchasing. Additional support activities may also be provided in safety, customer service, shipping & receiving, production reporting, warehouse & inventory management, and other areas as determined by the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Administer general human resources and communication activities, including accurate timekeeping, payroll, maintenance of personnel files, interpretation of policies, and employee counseling.
  • Ensure new hire protocol (job offers, drug testing, background checks, etc.) is followed and conduct new employee orientation.
  • Process payroll, including deductions, reporting, timecard review, and historical edits for hourly employees.
  • Support plant security by monitoring visitor sign-in and assist the plant manager with front office operations.
  • Organize company functions, parties, picnics, and celebrations.
  • Validate employee eligibility and earnings for annual CIP bonus payouts.
  • Maintain employee data in the HRIS system, including annual rate increases and employee deductions.
  • Facilitate the Leave of Absence process and answer general health and medical insurance questions.
  • Ensure all job postings and HR postings are displayed as needed.
  • Oversee communication efforts, including company announcements, compliance bulletin boards, quarterly town hall meetings, and digital signage.
  • Ensure accurate invoices and payment processing for non-contracted vendors (e.g., employee medical evaluations, safety PPE, uniforms).
  • Purchase basic office, production, laboratory, and safety supplies as needed.
  • Provide financial support (accounts payable/receivable) and general office purchasing activities.
  • Perform clerical duties, including typing, filing, phone coverage, and mail distribution.
  • Assist in special projects at the plant as required.
  • Activate/deactivate gate passes and maintain ISO training files.
  • Work with Corporate HR on special projects and communications.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements as needed.

Requirements

  • High school or technical school diploma with a minimum of 3 years of general human resources, payroll, and basic accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • ADP experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong typing skills.
  • Ability to learn and understand software applications such as SAP, online travel reservations, and electronic expense reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Fundamental mathematical skills and accounting knowledge.
  • Solid knowledge of local, state, federal, and government rules and regulations regarding privacy laws and health records.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of human resources policies and procedures.
  • Minimal travel required (0–10 days per year).
  • May be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Work environment is typical of an office setting.
  • Good communication skills and diplomacy in dealing with all levels of management, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to be physically mobile throughout the property.

Pay

Base salary pay range: $51,800.00–$71,200.00 annually. Pay within this range will vary based on relevant experience, skills, and education. This position is also eligible for an incentive bonus.
