About the role

RTX is seeking a highly qualified candidate to join the Payroll Governance Team as a Senior Payroll Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all benefit-related payroll activities and will serve as a subject matter expert overseeing payroll actions across multiple RTX business units, including Raytheon, Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and Corporate. This role is accountable for the precise calculation, validation, reconciliation, reporting, and compliance of all benefit deductions. The Senior Analyst will apply federal regulations and internal requirements, including USERRA, SOX controls, union collective bargaining agreements, and RTX policies while performing detailed reviews and resolving complex, escalated cases. The position partners closely with multiple internal teams and vendor support teams to ensure timely, accurate, and audit-ready payroll processing across the enterprise. The Payroll Governance Team operates in a high-volume, fast-paced, metric-driven, and highly collaborative environment.

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems. This is a hybrid role; eligible candidates must reside within commuting distance of Richardson, TX or Farmington, CT.

Responsibilities

  • Develop standard work documentation and maintain payroll and benefits processes and workflows to ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Audit and support Payroll Benefits processes and workflow to ensure all transactions are processed accurately and timely, including tax withholding setup and changes, bonus-related tax entries, pay adjustments, and payroll preview review as needed.
  • Support compliance monitoring, issue tracking, and resolution with the ability to design solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Respond to employee payroll benefit inquiries with a high level of service.
  • Recognize opportunities, recommend process improvements, and lead projects to increase efficiency and ensure quality.
  • Must be able to work extended or flexible hours as needed to support the requirements of a nationwide payroll operation.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field and 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree. In lieu of a degree, 6 years of applicable relevant experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience with Enterprise Payroll Software such as: Workday, ADP EV5, and ADP Workforce Manager.
  • Experience and knowledge of Payroll best practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with ADP Global View or ADP Ev5.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to multitask.
  • Self-starter able to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, cross-functional team environment with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate expertise in problem-solving, analysis, and issue resolution.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.

Pay

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Schedule

This is a hybrid role. Employees who are working in hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. The ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
