This position is a fully remote opportunity for an early-career payroll professional based in the United States, offering hands-on exposure to payroll processing and the chance to develop Workday and payroll expertise in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
About the role
You will provide payroll settlement services through Workday, combining payroll operations, customer support, financial controls, and problem-solving. The role involves managing multiple client needs while maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and service. You will work collaboratively with a supportive team while taking ownership of deadlines, controls, and client requests.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll settlements within clients’ Workday applications accurately and according to established procedures.
- Process on-demand payments as requested and ensure transactions are handled promptly.
- Maintain accurate, client-specific payroll support documentation.
- Manage daily control reports and identify issues requiring follow-up or resolution.
- Process and resolve Treasury exceptions while maintaining attention to financial accuracy.
- Provide responsive, professional support to multiple clients and maintain effective working relationships.
- Protect confidential customer and payroll information by exercising appropriate tact and discretion.
- Meet tight deadlines and competing priorities while maintaining consistent quality and service levels.
- Collaborate with team members to support shared objectives and contribute to an effective working environment.
- Apply strong problem-solving and mathematical skills to resolve payroll-related questions and issues.
- Take initiative in a changing, fast-paced environment and continuously develop payroll knowledge and expertise.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; an associate degree or higher is preferred.
- 1–2 years of payroll customer service experience.
- Previous knowledge or experience with payroll processing is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a clear commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple customers and priorities effectively.
- Detail-oriented approach and ability to maintain accuracy while working under deadlines.
- Strong mathematical and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business requirements.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while independently managing assigned responsibilities.
